24HourDallas accepted Copper Star program applications from 100+ organizations (some with multiple locations) in January 2022.

We had hoped to recruit 40-50 business locations.

Our goals were exceeded thanks to the diligent work of Good Neighbor Initiative Project Manager, Bryan Tony, and a helpful team of 24HourDallas volunteers.

24HourDallas’s Copper Star inaugural certification program is inspired by the Purple Flag and Best Bar None programs in the UK and the Arlington Restaurant Initiative in Virginia.

Unlike these initiatives, however, 24HourDallas is a private, non-profit and volunteer-powered organization focused on all economic engines of Dallas nighttime economy.

Our Copper Star program is free, voluntary, and open to any business, venue or organization that operates for customers at night in the City of Dallas. If a business wishes to demonstrate that it is a good, nighttime corporate citizen, our Copper Star certification provides the means to do so.

Not all businesses that applied met the certification criteria this year.

Those listed here are in the final stage of the Copper Star Certification process, hosting site visits to verify their self-assessments. We look forward to honoring them at our Copper Star Certification Celebration on Monday, August 22.

In January 2023, 24HourDallas will begin accepting applications for the Copper Star Class of 2023.

The Copper Star program, a pillar of our Good Neighbor Initiative, is made possible by Pernod Ricard USA.

In addition to 24HourDallas’ own Respect and Inclusion Committee and Trafficking Committee, more than 20 local non-profit organizations have agreed to be a resource, as needed, to participants in the Copper Star program.

Their goal is to help our nighttime businesses be safer, more inclusive, and more culturally and economically vibrant.
